New Balance and Antonia unveil the U204L - a new lifestyle silhouette that reimagines the brand’s heritage through a contemporary lens, blending '70s running inspiration with early 2000s textures and technical nuances.
Rooted in tradition yet forward-thinking, the U204L balances retro cues with a refined, modern structure. The multi-piece upper crafted in premium suede is enriched by embossed overlays and screen-printed graphics along the saddle, while the distinctive EVA outsole combines a Y2K-inspired strike path with a tread pattern that nods to vintage track shoes. A double-stacked suede 'N' logo completes the look, adding dimension and identity.
In a rich brown palette, the sneaker expresses the collection’s core ethos - elevated, versatile, and grounded in legacy.
“When designing the 204L, we knew we wanted to offer a versatile, sleek sneaker while producing something new and fresh. It was a true collaborative effort working alongside our product manager, developer, and team of designers to bring this model to life. The shoe is designed to stand out from other New Balance models with this convergence of two different eras, set to be released in unique materials and colorways,” explains Pierome Sar, Senior Designer at New Balance.
