In the Space Age-looking architecture of Pierre Cardin’s breathtaking Bubble Palace, whose deep red spheres look like they were sculpted out of the lush green hills overlooking the Bay of Cannes, Raf Simons unveiled Dior’s cruise 2016 season.
With elegant ease, his models paraded through the organic circular structure and around red marble infinity pools wearing sassy pieces that highlighted Simon’s architectural and modernist hand, interpreted with a light-hearted, perky holiday spirit.
Simons worked both frothy and sleek silhouettes, refreshing the legacy of Dior’s founding couturier, with a sea of checked shorts and shirts, tennis and smock dresses, cropped sailor pants, Lurex striped tops, all paired with booties and leather flip flops.
The colors perfectly reflected the natural, sun-drenched shades of the Riviera. Overall, the line-up channeled the timeless jet-set soul of the south of France and its laid back vacation spirit with a futuristic vibe.
