For the new season, Valentino’s Pier Paolo Piccioli focuses on shapes and volumes by counterbalancing purity and extravagance to enhance the personality of the individual that gives life to each garment. Besides touches of black and pops of fluorescence, the collection favors white, reimagined with the Grisaille artistic technique that consists of creating a whole painting, glass wall or drawing in shades of grey and white for a crisp monochrome effect. Its starkness emphasizes shapes and volumes of timeless staples, infused with the House’s longstanding Couture spirit, such as the white shirt, the shirtdress, the dress, the pencil skirt and Bermuda shorts in cotton poplin.
