EXCLUSIVE PROJECT: THE FENDI BAGUETTE SHAKES IT UP

The first real IT bag, the Fendi Baguette is back in full force. Launched in 1997, this mini bag with a macro personality became a cult accessory for women all the over the worldthanks to its modern glamour, surprise effect and star status (think Carrie Bradshaw with hers in Sex and the City). Named after the French bread loaf as it fitssnugly under the arm, the updated version, in three sizes and multiple variations, takes center stage in our exclusive display that celebrates a bag whose disruptiveness made ripples when it debuted, quickly becoming a collector’s item. The detachable long or short straps make this bag a lifelong partner, adjusting to one’s mood, function and style. Tinged in yellow, the iconic Fendi color, the high-impact Plexiglas FF display at Antonia, which runs through March 1, reflects the transparencies and airy perforations of the SS 2019 collection. “The Baguette is back, this time also with a bigger size. This year is ten years of the Peekaboo, but it is not just reinventing the Peekaboo, it is also reinventing the Baguette. It’s really talking about icons. Talking about what FENDI is, and I think it’s nice to have both of them on the catwalk, because one is the opposite of the other, and the concept behind was really the opposite. I think that in anyways the DNA of FENDI is there, shown on both,” says Silvia Venturini Fendi, the creative force behind both bags.
As part of the Baguette relaunch, Fendi also unveiled #BaguetteFriendsForever, the new movie episodes telling three different stories of inseparable friends, following their daily sparkling routine in the quest for the FendiBaguettebag.
