VALENTINO INSIGHTS: A SHOPPABLE TOUR

As luxury powerhouses continue to explore new ways to present their collections and novelties at a distance, Valentino’s creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli, has conceived Valentino Insights, an interactive 3D virtual journey to unveil the brand’s latest treasures. At a crossroad between a video game and digital art, it invites fans and customers to enter a sprawling modernist Italian villa with a pool, inspired by Piccioli’s own beach home in Nettuno, outside Rome. Strewn around are various shoppable Valentino accessories, from the striking new Roman stud bag to pointy mules to white sneakers, surrounded by uber cool clickable props such as a record player that plays a curated Valentino playlist, an old telephone with a recorded message, a digital book called Empathy, and landscape photo frames. In this vein, Piccioli personally handpicked a selection of iconic 20th century design pieces to homage the applied arts, which he believes that similarly to fashion have entered the life and homes of people. Among them are objects by Cassina, Knoll, FontanaArte, Kilim, Gae Aulenti, Venini and Brionvega - pieces that over the decades have built an aesthetic, social and domestic identity.
