According to BoF, “the $1 trillion fashion industry is animated by the ideas, emotions and actions of a core community of influential global insiders.” Driven by the notion that no other sector has a “cast of characters as passionate, diverse and interesting, from blue-chip business titans to daring creative upstarts,” each year BoF 500, a professional index of the people shaping the global fashion industry, adds new names based on the insight and nominations received from its current members. The 2016 BoF 500 special print edition is fronted by Kate Moss who exclusively reveals that since surprising the industry by leaving Storm Models, she has been quietly setting up her own talent agency and building a lifestyle business. Among the noteworthy new entries forging the fashion scene are brother-and-sister duo Jaden and Willow Smith; Bella Hadid, Jared Leto; former One Direction band member Zayn Malik; model Taylor Hill, who booked the high-wattage Victoria’s Secret fashion show on her first meeting; Virgil Abloh for his vintage-meets-future expression of fashion; Lanvin’s new creative director Bouchra Jarrar; Ismaya French, a London-based artist recommended by Carine Roitfeld; photographer Colin Dodgson; exciting London retailer Stavros Karelis; and transgender American actress Hari Nef.
