NEW BRAND: HERBERT LEVINE

A footwear brand that defined American fashion in the 1950s and 1960s, Herbert Levine unveils FW25 at Antonia Brera and in a select number of stores worldwide, opening a new chapter under the creative direction of Trevor Houston.

Founded in 1948 by Beth Levine and her husband Herbert, the house transformed the world of footwear with designs that combined artistry and functionality: sculptural, eclectic shoes that balanced wearability with a bold dramatic spirit.

Texas-born designer Trevor Houston, who honed his skills at Marc Jacobs, The Row, and Khaite, brings a minimalist vision that remains deeply rooted in design history. With FW25, he bridges past and present, blending Beth Levine’s legacy with a contemporary sensibility shaped by architectural lines and noir cinematic references.

The collection introduces the Silhouette Boot, finished with a heart-shaped metal toe cap; the flat Home Body mule; the satin Not Half Bad pump; and the satin Sitting Pretty mule with heel.

The palette recalls Milton Avery’s distinctive use of color, while the graphic language of Saul Steinberg adds a fresh layer of narrative. Details such as the cursive HL monogram and a signature metal pin – inspired by vintage jewelry – are conceived as interchangeable elements.

Herbert Levine is available at Antonia Brera and online.
