IN THE SPOTLIGHT: THE ATTICO PRE-SPRING 2021
Nov 25, 2020
As times face a seismic change, The Attico seeks evolution over revolution to look ahead. In that vein, the belief in bold femininity that has always defined this standout brand has taken a different form and tone. One decidedly more relaxed, casual.
While preserving their quintessential sense of seduction, founders Giorgia Tordini and Gilda Ambrosio have tempered the heat for the “real world” without giving in to normality. Silhouettes have a new, elongated fluidity, expressed in the jersey dresses and tops featuring vertical drawstrings to create personalized draped effects. Trousers are long and skinny, paired with sharp-shouldered tailoring. Denim is countered by sequined tops while cargo shapes create a slouchy flow. Form-fitting dresses are recurrent, either short or long, with skin revealing cut-outs or slits. Veering away from classic embellishment, save for a smattering of feathers, decoration this season explores the industrial world. Bright hues of pink, green and cobalt blue, plus degradè effects set off a warm vibrancy.
