MEET NEW BRAND MAISON MIHARA YASUHIRO

Mihara Yasuhiro started his fashion career with textiles and later developed a passion for footwear which he nurtured in the U.K, learning the secrets by working in factories, tanneries and wooden last ateliers. He then went on to launch his namesake brand, initially only available in his independently-operated boutiques called Sosu Mihara Yasuhiro. The first opened in Tokyo’s design-centric Aoyama district in 1998. In 2000, the Japanese designer further cemented his deep love for footwear by partnering with Puma, where he was given free rein to reimagine a range of classics to global acclaim, under the Puma by Mihara Yasuhiro moniker.; The designer's Fall coed collection is titled “Basic Antinomie,” inspired by Immanuel Kant’s antinomies, or contradictions of two beliefs, the thesis and antithesis, interpreted via a mix of elements and reconstructed pieces of garments, especially denim and other traditional Americana.
