Hiroshi Fujiwara has shared a first, essential preview of the Virgil Abloh Archive™ x Air Jordan 1 High OG “Alaska”, hinting at a project that extends beyond a simple reissue.
This release marks a new chapter in the posthumous collaboration between Virgil Abloh and Nike, filtered through his creative archive. The “Alaska” colorway, originally introduced in 2018 as a rare European variant of The Ten series, returns in an updated form, scheduled for SS26.
The most significant shift is subtle yet definitive: the “V.A.A. for Nike” stamp replaces the previous “Off-White™ for Nike”, redirecting the focus from a commercial label to an authorial legacy.
The glacial aesthetic that defines the “Alaska” name remains intact. A total white palette, deconstructed construction, exposed foam, industrial lettering and the signature zip tie. Canonical elements, reaffirmed with clarity.
Following the exhibition Virgil Abloh: The Codes in Paris, this preview reinforces the sense of an enduring legacy. The “Alaska” emerges as both a closing and an open chapter in one of the most influential collaborations in the history of streetwear.
