URBAN STAPLES: 7 MONCLER FRGMT BY HIROSHI FUJIWARA

The multi-faceted Hiroshi Fujiwara has many talents, spanning creator, producer, musician and godfather of streetwear. Needless to say, his background trickles down to his work via wide-reaching references, extensive sampling and offbeat collaborations. He approaches fashion from a personal, at times egotistical, point of view, making clothes that he would like to wear himself. For his latest collab with Moncler, the Japanese designer fuses functional design and mysterious slogans with the brand’s technical expertise, delivering seemingly normal urban staples that are in fact full of hidden surprises. In a rhapsody of black, the first drop of 7 Moncler Frgmt Hiroshi Fujiwara focuses on lighter, mid-season items. Bombers, puffers and utility jackets nod to the designer’s streetwear heritage, topped with sophisticated takes on jersey tops, jumpers, Bermuda shorts and trousers. Security patches and the new logo devised from Moncler’s vintage labels characterize the items, in both bold and discreet versions.
