FENDI'S PIETRO BECCARI HEADS TO DIOR

Call it the Dior Italian power. Creating a major stir, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton appointed Pietro Beccari as chief executive officer of Christian Dior Couture, succeeding Sidney Toledano, who will become executive chairman of the LVMH Fashion Group. Beccari will join Maria Grazia Chiuri, the first-ever woman to be appointed Creative Director at the legendary fashion house. She joined in July 2016, succeeding Raf Simons. The 66-year-old Toledano, who is close to Bernard Arnault, chairman and chief executive officer of LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, will hand over the baton to Beccari early next year, after almost 20 years at the helm of Christian Dior Couture. Moving into the next chapter of his professional career, Toledano will replace Pierre-Yves Roussel as chairman and ceo of LVMH Fashion Group. The top brass of Céline, Givenchy, Kenzo, Loewe, Marc Jacobs, Pucci, Rossi Moda and Nicholas Kirkwood will report to Toledano. An excellent leader with a strong vision and people’s skills, Beccari did an outstanding job at Fendi, which he helped transform into a billion-euro company with an innovative vision and stimulating projects that include less logo and more upscale products, often injected with a dose of humour, sprawling new headquarters, a boutique hotel and Zuma restaurant.
