MONCLER GENIUS – 6 MONCLER 1017 ALYX 9SM

Matthew Williams, founder and creative director of 1017 ALYX 9SM, is a fan of all things touched and shaped by the human hand, infused with a warm and organic feel. Reason why he imbued such qualities, as well as the brand’s distinctive techniques, metropolitan style and signature hardware, into the 6 MONCLER 1017 ALYX 9SM collection. The idea is to let the respective DNAs fuse into each other, creating products that Moncler had not yet made Function and comfort, key elements for both brands, define a modern line up of modular outerwear and basics in an urban palette of black with shots of grey, white, orange and red. Outerwear of all sorts - puffers, padded parkas, featherweight parka windbreakers, vests and bonded leather pieces – are tossed over practical base layers and hi-impact accessories such as chain belts with hooks, hooded backpacks and neoprene boots with rubber soles. Color gradations on a nylon base are tactile and uneven, taping and ultrasound wielding are used extensively, while tights and tops are made from Econyl®, a regenerated nylon derived from waste materials including plastic recovered from the oceans.
