THE ROW

The Row founders and designers Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen approached spring by researching the house’s history with iconic materials and typical less-is-more shapes culled from the archives. ;The starting point was the luxurious, pure and timeless constructions, reaffirmed to be relevant in the current times. The focus is on comfort expressed via easy dressing or loungewear. Imagined to also be worn separately, the suit of the season is versatile, oversized and mannish with a double-breasted jacket over full pleated trousers. The signature trench is roomy, featuring exaggerated lapels and belts in either baby calf-skin or double-faced cashmere. Simple and versatile, a V-neck vest is worn in multiple ways – against bare skin, over a white men’s shirt, soft trousers, or a pleated skirt. The gentle, neutral palette veers from light to dark while the fabrics include exclusive Japanese hand-spun silks, cotton poplin and cotton panama, double wool and double-face felted cashmere. On the accessories front, the designers balanced legacy and currency with a crop of idiosyncratic shapes rendered in refreshed versions.
