JACQUELINE DE RIBES: THE ART OF STYLE
A LOVER OF FASHION
The unique style and natural glamour of Countess Jacqueline de Ribes, herself a designer, will be celebrated with a dedicated exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute in New York called Jacqueline de Ribes: The Art of Style. The 60-plus ensembles on display speak about de Ribes’ fearless sense of fashion and color through a collection of pieces from Yves Saint Laurent, Pierre Balmain, Bill Blass, Marc Bohan for Dior, Madame Grès, Valentino Garavani and Jean Paul Gaultier.
Described by Truman Capote as a “swan” in 1959, the showcase also portrays images of the impeccably-styled De Ribes chatting with friends such as Marlon Brando, Charlie Chaplin, Yves Saint Laurent and Oscar de la Renta.
