ANTONIA CELEBRATES DELVAUX
An exclusive dinner and FW 2016 preview
A crop of high-profile personalities flocked to the Antonia boutique on Thursday night for an intimate dinner hosted by Antonia Giacinti in honor of storied luxurygoods house Delvaux and its Artistic Director Christina Zeller. Framed by an elegant setting of ivy-shrouded candelabras, silverware, white candles and harp players, guests enjoyed a sit-down dinner and an exclusive F/W 2016-17 preview. Steeped in the mantra that “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication,” the new Delvaux collection is at once precious and precise, reflecting the Maison’s enviable heritage with a touch of Art Deco folly. Alligator, lizard, python and galuchat are crafted with exceptional savoire-faire and with an innovative twist reflected in the colors, in bold degradè effects and in the lightness of each bag. A lively and refined repertoire soon in store so stay tuned.
An authentic Belgian brand since 1829, Delvaux was founded a year before the birth of the Belgian nation, which declared its independence from the Netherlands in 1830. Under the stewardship of King Léopold of Saxe-Cobourg Gotha, an uncle of the future Queen Victoria of England, Belgium enjoyed significant growth, becoming the world’s fourth-largest economic power by 1901. Delvaux thrived honoring the grandeur, tradition and symbols of Belgium and earning the title of "royal warrant holder of the court of Belgium." Because as King Leopold II famously proclaimed, "The nation of Rubens must be as great in its art as in its commerce and industry."
