Taxis are just as symbolic of a city as any famous monument. So, 20 years after he made ripples by plastering his ads on NYC’s iconic yellow cabs, Helmut Lang introduces the “Global Taxi” project with a capsule collection for F/W 2018-19. Colored T-shirts and hoodies dedicated to the various cities - yellow for New York, black for London, green for Tokyo, white for Paris and red for Hong Kong – are adorned with hallmark details. Moreover, the reportage-style photoshoot that accompanies the project puts taxi drivers in the spotlight, highlighting the crucial role they play in each city’s culture and imagery.
