It’s California Dreamin’ at Jil Sander this season. Designers Lucie and Luke Meier chose Los Angeles because its multi-faceted soul represents many things to them: a symbol, a kaleidoscope, a mirror of our time, a place to explore, and a source of inspiration.
The city’s balance of progressiveness and freedom, of dreams and reality, of nature and concrete is captured by British photographer Chris Rhodes in the new campaign, a mix of Hollywood’s sartorial glamour and workwear’s geometric patterns.
The collection’s blend of glitz and function, day and night, craftsmanship and innovative techniques, instead, wants to create the space of freedom we all need; what we want to be, the way we want to be.
