8 MONCLER PALM ANGELS
It’s no secret that Francesco Ragazzi nurtures an endless fascination for the signs and the tropes of American culture, which he re-interprets liberally through the distinctive Palm Angels filter to enhance individuality. With California’s laid-back vibe always on his mind, Ragazzi ‘s latest undertaking for Moncler replaces the iconic coq with a palm to bring a whiff of summer into the winter gloom.
Drawing from iconic American sports such as basketball, hockey, and baseball, the Italian designer imagines a series of off-court sports uniforms that in his hands becomes resolutely individual and utterly non-uniform.
The puffer, the parka, the varsity jacket, but also the pajama pants, the distressed five-pocket jeans, the tracksuit, and the Bermuda shorts are created by shuffling around materials and details with an unexpected twist.
