CONVERSE X CHINATOWN MARKET
Bold and lively to say the least, the new Converse x Chinatown Market transposes the vivacious graphics of the iconic NBA championship jackets designed by Jeff Hamilton for the Bulls and Lakers onto the Pro Leather and Chuck 70 designs. Hence, the sneakers become a canvas for a throwback exercise featuring the unapologetically loud, blown-up graphics celebrating the legendary teams. The unique leather Chuck 70 features a contrasting white tongue while the panels are emblazoned with the championship years. Similarly, the Pro Leather’s court legacy is enriched with screen-printed graphics, embroidered details, woven patches and exclusive co-branding.
Founded in 2014 by Mike Cherman, Chinatown Market captures the spirit of NYC’s Canal Street by printing nostalgic graphic designs on streetwear merch and daily objects. A New Yorker whose aesthetic is inspired by his period in San Diego and the city’s street/skate culture, his brand has participated in numerous ultra-successful limited-edition collaborations.
