ARTISTIC WHIM: GALLERY DEPARTMENT X LANVIN

In an intriguing combo of creativity, streetwear culture and passion for retro fashion, Josué Thomas, artist and founder of Gallery Department, reimagines Lanvin’s key signature pieces, designed by Bruno Sialelli, the Creative Director of the storied French house since 2019. At the forefront of the limited-edition capsule, which Thomas developed in his workshop in Los Angeles, are the “Mother and Child” printed T-shirt, twisted jeans and the asymmetric striped shirt. In general, Thomas culled his creative spark from Lanvin’s sneakers: Clay, Curb and BumpR. And in a truly artistic vein, the Lanvin logo Tees and hoodies are splattered with paint while polo shirts are stamped with the Gallery Department name and the kraft paper bags are rendered in new colors.
