BRAND ON THE RISE: HAUS OF HONEY

Add fledgling footwear brand Haus of Honey to your summer wish-list. In a very short time, this eye-catching label, based on inclusivity, superior Italian hand-made quality and cool high-glam designs, is carving out a niche spot on the footwear scenario. Founded by Stefano Miele, who grew up in his mother’s footwear shop in Gaeta, a seaside town in central Italy, and worked for Moschino, Prada and Miu Miu, Haus of Honey focuses on a key shape – the wedge. Despite the typical chunkiness of this design, which Miele says transcends times and trends, the shoes and extremely light and eco-friendly as they are entirely made from hand-carved Tuscan cork. Another distinctive standout element is Miele’s ability to play with contrasts by masterfully matching the humbleness of cork with luxurious fabrics such as satin, by applying hand-lacquered finishes and sprinklings of crystals and beads, painstakingly selected from the best Italian factories. All in a warm, dreamy palette evocative of the awe-inspiring Italian riviera. A vision and talent that we embrace by dedicating our windows to this new successful project, whose name stems from the designer’s last name, which means honey, while Haus is a tribute to the Bauhaus movement.
