BRITISH DESIGNERS OPEN SHOW TO CONSUMERS

In the ongoing debate on the future of fashion shows, a crop of British designers has taken a stance. According to WWD, they will stage runway shows for end consumers during London Fashion Weekend, which takes place two days after the end of London Fashion Week. Designers participating in the event, which will be held at the Saatchi Gallery, include Emilia Wickstead, Holly Fulton, Mary Katrantzou and Temperley London. The plan is to spotlight one designer per day and repeat the runway show about two to four times a day. The event offers the opportunity to reach a focused, informed and fast-growing consumer audience.
