Last year Miami-based Del Toro celebrated its 10th anniversary of high-powered success. A trait highly-visible in the new cool spring line-up. What originally started out as luxury brand eager to fill a void in the market for affordable and customized velvet slippers has evolved into a lifestyle brand for men and women. Hand-crafted on Italy’s Adriatic coast, the selection of slippers, wingtips, chukkas, sneakers, drivers and espadrilles are all freshly reimagined by Matthew Chevallard, the brand’s Italo-American President and Creative Director. Chevallard infuses his own personal style and instinct into every single design, creating unique details and compelling color combinations. No wonder they are the ultimate must-haves for the likes of Lapo Elkann, Pharrell Williams, Alex Rodriguez and LeBron James, among others. Del Toro’s overall aesthetic amalgamates Chevallard’s Italian heritage, a Palm Beach prep aesthetic from his childhood and an edgy New York and Japanese street style. The end result? In Chevallard’s words, the perfect shoe for “grown up sneaker heads.”
