MONCLER GENIUS 5 – MONCLER CRAIG GREEN

For Craig Green, the dialogue between clothing, body and form is key in his exploration of protection and performance. In that vein, for his latest tie-up with Moncler, the designer created pieces that can be folded, flattened and packed via shapes that shrink and grow, allowing big volumes to become small. Inspired by the properties of down filling, and how a relatively small quantity of the material can fill a much larger space, Green created featherweight outerwear that maintains its protective qualities. All the garments, from zip-up jackets to padded hoods to parkas can be separated in modules and condensed into small cubes. Details such as special zippers that extract air when closed and components in ultralight materials enhance the function of each garment. Green also developed a new structure for down panels that fulfil the packability challenge. In typical Green mode, the collection is rooted in the functionality of workwear and utility, served up in a palette of military green, black, white and light grey offset by orange, yellow and red.
