STONE ISLAND’S SS 2020 DESERT CAMO
Feb 04, 2020
The culture of research, experimentation, function and use that has always defined Stone Island is at the forefront of the new Desert Camo men’s capsule, of which the flight jacket is a worldwide Antonia Milano exclusive, highlighted by a high-impact display spread across all its windows.
Made of a resistant cotton rep blended with ultra-twisted Cordura yarns for extra strength and tenacity, the garments feature a camouflage pigment print in a spring-perfect mix of white, pink and coral, plus touches of thick, glossy black with a tar effect. Defined by a round collar with concealed hood, patch pockets, hidden snaps, elbow patches and Velcro fastenings, the flight jacket is washed with the addition of a special anti-drop agent.
Stone Island was founded in 1982 by Massimo Osti and is now managed by chairman and creative director Carlo Rivetti. Over the decades, this brand with its Wind Rose logo has become a symbol of extreme research in fibers and textiles, applied to an innovative design. A pioneer in redefining the common meaning of sportswear, today Stone Island is a cult phenomenon that has maintained its buzzy leadership as a contemporary point of reference even for the younger generations.
Stone Island’s study of uniforms and of work wear, and of its evolution according to the latest requirements of use, has created a perfect balance of form and function.
Its strength lies in its unique capacity to work on the finished garment, via continuous experimentation with dyes and treatments created in the Sportswear Company’s color laboratory. Here, thanks to a combination of advanced technology, experience and expertise, more than 60,000 different dye recipes have been developed over the years.
