THE HYPER-COLORED NEW WORLD OF DIOR HOMME

Lensman of the moment, Rafael Pavarotti, fully enhances the vivid spirit of the Dior Homme FW 2021-22 collection, designed by Kim Jones, Artistic Director of men's wear, in collaboration with contemporary artist Kenny Scharf.
The imagery, in fact, bursts with color and vitality, a quite unexpected approach for the cold season. To underscore the collection's pop spirit, the models are superimposed over panels with Scharf's work, a mixture of cartoons, surrealism, and science fiction.
Eager to spread a wave of optimism, Jones drew inspiration from Sharf's universe, working with bright day-glow colors that channel a playful vibe in an invitation to a one-way trip to Planet Dior. The expertise of the Dior Ateliers translated the artist's works into prints, fusing them with the famous Dior Oblique motif, embroidered with traditional Chinese techniques.
“When we started the collection we were coming out of the first lockdown and I wanted to spread some joy, happiness and hope,” says Jones.
The meeting of the two creative talents spawned a dialogue between couture tradition and technological precision in a virtual world where everything becomes possible.
