“THE LAST DANCE” – THE STORY OF MICHAEL JORDAN

As live sports have been shut down to contain the Coronavirus pandemic, ESPN's Michael Jordan documentary "The Last Dance" was released earlier compared to its original premiere date of June 2, pleasing fans looking for a dose of sporty thrill. The 10-part documentary series chronicles the Chicago Bulls' dynasty through the detailed lens of the final championship season in 1997-98, also Michael Jordan’s last season. The six-time NBA champions allowed an NBA Entertainment crew to follow the team around for that entire season. Needless to say, some of that exclusive, never-before-seen footage appears in the documentary, a sort of guide to the 1990s Chicago Bulls dynasty for those who did not experience it. In addition, ESPN spoke to more than 100 people close to the team and personalities who experienced the run, exploring all angles of the Jordan phenomenon. According to the ESPN website, “Michael Jordan thrived in ways and in places that few players before him could match, and that even fewer players today can emulate.” The first two “The Last Dance” episodes averaged 6.1 million viewers.
