ETRO: INSPIRED BY RUDOLF NUREYEV AND JIMI HENDRIX

Prints in general, and paisley in particular, are the bread and butter of the Etro aesthetic, since its;inception in 1968. This season Veronica Etro reaffirmed its house codes by exploring the idea of;freedom, inspired by two men: Rudolf Nureyev and Jimi Hendrix. The designer interpreted their;irreverent style and free-spirited attitude through rich fabrics, decorative textures and elaborate;intarsia, infused with a distinctive rock-meets-ballet edge. Music has been the highlight of the year for Etro, which also made headlines for dressing Italian rock;band Måneskin at the Eurovision contest. The band, which actually won the festival, rocked the house;in customized Etro outfits that channeled a glam-rock feel via embroidered and studded laminated
leather flared pants, vests and a bustiers. As for the new collection, the wide-spanning offering veers from day into night, from preppy to Boho.;Pegasus-loged V-neck sweaters come in bright colors while chunky cardigans reveal graphic intarsia.;The signature paisley print decorates full skirts, bags, long flowing dresses, slinky silk blouses and a;roomy puffer in tones of ivory and gold. Throughout, Etro kept it focused, bright and inspiring.
