SPECIAL PROJECTS: CASABLANCA @ANTONIA

The lively patterns and colors of the Casablanca F/W 2021-22 collection stand out in our latest window display dedicated to the buzzy brand launched in 2018 by Charaf Tajer.

Called “Casablanca Grand Prix”, it takes inspiration from the picturesque city of Monaco: race cars, the casino, the glamour and the architecture of bygone eras. With the French Riviera serving as an awe-inspiring backdrop, the collection evokes life around the Formula 1 racetrack, glitzy parties and the Casino de Monte-Carlo, of course, a place where lovers, gamblers, tycoons, and race car drivers converge.

The clothes combine a daytime aesthetic of Formula 1 sportswear with the late-night glamour of the casino: tracksuits to tuxedos, trousers to evening gowns in vivacious hues and a plethora of patterns, including hand-painted, one-of a kind motifs.

Before establishing Casablanca, founder and creative director Tajer had contributed to the rise of French brands Pigalle and Le Pompom, alongside lending his creativity to Off-White, Nike and Missoni. Inspired by his childhood memories of growing up between Paris and Casablanca, the designer applies Neapolitan tailoring techniques to leisure wear, rendered through luxurious textures and lively colors.
