THE BRITISH FASHION AWARDS 2018

The fashion community wrapped up the year with the star-studded Fashion Awards 2018 ceremony held at the Royal Albert Hall earlier this week. Over 4,000 guests flocked to the black-tie gala, a mix of industry leaders, celebrities and fashion students. Megan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, added glitz to the sparkle by making a surprise appearance, presenting her wedding dress designer Clare Waight Keller with the award for British Designer of the Year. In terms of the winners, Italian brands and designers scored major points with Valentino’s Pierpaolo Piccioli receiving Designer of the Year, Miuccia Prada winning Outstanding Achievement and Marco Bizzarri named top Business Leader for the third year in a row. Gucci also won Brand of the Year. And still, Kim Jones was named Trailblazer of 2018, alongside the next generation of design pioneers, such as Richard Quinn and Samuel Ross. For the first time, this year’s awards also honored 100 of the most innovative and inspiring talents from around the world, ranging from makeup artists and models to digital influencers and journalists.
