OTW by Vans and Gallery Dept. unveil the new version of the Authentic 44, inspired by the creative energy of a painting studio. Every detail blends art and craftsmanship: from paint drips on the toe to subtle traces of grease on the upper, and surfaces that reflect the creative process.
Josué Thomas brings to the sneaker the same approach that has defined Gallery Dept. since 2017: deconstruct, distress, and let the object carry the marks of creativity. Here, the classic Vans silhouette becomes a blank canvas for an intentionally unfinished aesthetic, where the clean heel and panels contrast with the worked surfaces.
The phrase “Art That Kills” runs along the sole – a bold statement complemented by carefully selected materials and hand-painted details designed to feel spontaneous.
OTW by Vans once again explores the impact of skate culture, while Gallery Dept. continues to reinterpret “handmade” into a distinctive visual language.
