Drawing inspiration from nature, namely the metamorphosis of the butterfly, also as a personal expression of creative rebirth, Nike and London-born artist Skepta revisit an iconic favorite, the Air Max Tailwind 5.; With his fifth SK Air offering, Skepta, who has left an indelible mark on London’s music scene with his game-changing flow and expansive creative universe, has also had a profound impact on footwear by applying his aesthetic to a handful of iconic Air Max designs. Now is the turn of another golden icon in sneaker history: The Air Max Tailwind 5. In Chrome Red and Chrome Blue, a sublimated butterfly print spreads its wings over the upper surrounded by a supporting, structural black webbing while the subtle iridescence around the heel nods to the thermographic cover art from Skepta’s 2019 album, Ignorance Is Bliss. “We;are all going through metamorphosis, a new stage of life,”;Skepta says.;“We chose this butterfly print out of about 50 different options because it had to evoke the correct emotion.” Our raffle is now live, ending on April 2 at 10.00 CET.
